Prior to retiring, a geology professor, in order to better understand how oil reservoirs are formed, takes his top students on an exploration of a depleted oil reservoir with the goal of retrieving rock samples. What they find instead leads the researchers to a shocking revelation about their own minds and bodies, and of life on Earth and elsewhere.

The team develops a submarine to enter the oil mine and finds, buried in stone that is millions of years old, evidence of an advanced civilization with technology far beyond today’s modern science.

Their discovery of strange manmade crystals leads them onto a path of discovery into humanity’s lost history, and of slowly realizing the true nature of mankind, now,and in the immediate future.
