by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming, David W. Grantham

Learn the lost art of Tai Chi Ball with Master Yang using this complete home study and ongoing training program.

An easy-to-follow four week program that you can study in the privacy of your own home.

Tai Chi Ball training used to be common practice in both external and internal martial arts. Unfortunately, due to its secrecy, fewer and fewer people have learned it and the art of Tai Chi Ball was almost forgotten. Today, it is experiencing a revitalization, largely due to this unprecedented program by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming. His book and companion DVDs have re-introduced this venerated practice for everyone as a healthy routine to cultivate balance, relieve stress and invigorate energy.

Whether you are new to the practice of Tai Chi Ball or a long-time practitioner this four-week program contains absolutely everything you need to make Tai Chi Ball Training a part of your regular exercise regimen.

Performed as directed, Dr. Yang's movements are great conditioning for your body and mind. You'll receive an hour of additional classroom instruction by Dr. Yang followed by fully guided training. The tranquil music and outdoor settings of the demonstration sections are ideal for this training and set the tone for your home study in a stress-free way.

These simple Tai Chi Ball movements are an amazing whole body exercise that can be practiced by anyone, at any age. They can be adapted for practice in a seated position and are well-known for rebuilding the body’s strength very quickly.

For martial artists, Tai Chi Ball Qigong training can strengthen the torso, condition the muscles, and increase physical power by using the mind to lead the Qi (energy). For Tai Chi practitioners and grapplers, it is a major training tool to enhance pushing hands skills.

For general exercise, Tai Chi Ball Qigong training helps to relieve back pain and strengthen the hips, knees, and ankles. You will learn to move the vertebrae of the spine, increase your energy through various breathing techniques, and learn to move all your joints properly, which can relieve arthritis pain.

Follow Dr. Yang's Guidelines to Get The Most From This Program For Lasting Results:

How To Use This Program:

For your first week of Dr. Yang’s FOUR-WEEK “Tai Chi Ball Video Program,” you’ll watch Course One. This is a 1-hour intensive instructional with Dr. Yang as he teaches you key qigong breathing methods and the fundamental physical moving patterns for precise Tai Chi Ball training. It is suggested that you review this teaching at least twice, preferably more often, practicing the breathing techniques and movements until they become fluid for you.

During your second week in the program, you will begin training on the 16 rotating patterns which include stationary and moving, vertical and horizontal rotating. You will follow along as you watch Dr. Yang and students demonstrate patterns. You’ll simply relax, watch, and participate in each movement.

During week three Dr. Yang will help you build on your foundation from your first two weeks. You’ll add wrap-coiling with vertical and horizontal variations. This is fun and challenging training, that builds the strength and flexibility of the entire body quickly. Just watch and follow along with all movements as your training takes you to the next level.

During week four, Dr. Yang will have you improving your coiling and neutralizing skills and other ball applications that will inform your Tai Chi and Pushing Hands skills. You’ll learn and apply a new sensitivity called “listening jing.”  You’ll start to experience more advanced (and fun) moves, such as “Flying Dragon Plays with the Ball.” You will discover many self-practice exercises that will easily come to you, as you experience more for yourself with Dr. Yang’s gentle guided approach through Tai Chi Ball Program.

For Continued Results: Repeat your use of the DVDs in a row, while reading the book, on a continued basis for years of quality fundamental Tai Chi training. Write a diary of your experiences as your Qi level increases. (Watch for the blooper reel at the end of DVD2 for a good laugh!)
